Eugenia Ginepro roaming around Denmark, calmly unaware that she was about to be on the cover of our magazine.
We hit the streets of Helsinki looking for a good time, and skate spots of course. Euge destroyed them all. She’s an authentic skate rat with raw energy, always hyped to land something gnarly and doesn’t take anything too seriously. And isn’t that what skateboarding is all about? We were about to launch issue #9 of Dolores and, after so many adventures with the Asiplanchaba crew across the years, it was only fair she got the cover of that issue!
“Things you never imagine end up happening”
You’ve been traveling around a lot on tour! What are some of your favourite spots in Europe?
The Santa Coloma bank in Barcelona, I really like that one. But the truth is there’s a good spot at every metro stop. Also, I really recommend Hamburg. You’ll be surprised with the amount of spots there. Helsinki is one of my favourites. It’s a shame for the weather, or else I’d live there. The locals are super cool. Then you have Palais de Tokyo in Paris, it’s a good plaza to hang out and skate without getting in trouble. You also have a view of the Eiffel Tower which gives it a special touch! In Copenhagen, there’s the Nørrebro and Vesterbro neighbourhoods, where everything is super close by and, if you get creative, you can have a really good skate around there. Wonderland is very special to me, that’s where I go when I’m feeling lonely or sad and everything goes away. I feel welcome and at home there. I love that bowl with all my heart! There’s a lot of good spots in Europe, but I have a special bond to these ones I mentioned, especially the Santa Coloma bank, which made me feel really angry and happy at the same time. It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel alive.

What’s the best skate festival to go to?
I would say Mystic Cup in Prague back in the day, because there were people from all different countries and a big skatepark. It’s a cheap city and I got to see Delinquent Habits and Suicidal Tendencies, it was epic. Nowadays Helride in Helsinki is the best event, absolutely, go and figure out why.
We’re underground, baby! Euge ollies down this double set in Helsinki before getting kicked out by security.
Who’s the best skateboarder to ask for advice when you need it?
There’s a lot of them, but the one person with the most accurate advice that always turns out to be right is Milton [Martinez]. And if Juko is around, then even better, because they both know what to tell me to stop me getting in my head and face my problems. Also Vero from Asiplanchaba always knows the right words to say.
You get stranded on a deserted island with one skater. Who do you choose?
Wes Kremer, because he’s super chill and such a peaceful human being. We would definitely find something to skate on that island and with him you feel 100% protected.
You get elected Skate President of the World. Who do you give the SOTY award to?
Rocio from Spotter DIY, no doubt about it! And in Argentina, Jason Boticelli (aguantaaaa)!

Tell me about a funny memory you have on a skate tour?
I can only recall moments that aren’t very appropriate, this was such a good question but very difficult to answer! Back in 2017, we had the chance to take part in an event in Malmö which consisted in making the best video out on the streets, competing against different teams. In our team we had Tonje from Norway, Nicoline from Denmark, Nina from Sweden and me from Argentina. We called it “Gammel Dansk” or something like that, I have no idea, I think it’s some kind of horrible liquor. We were staying at a hotel with breakfast included, everything was great. One of the days, it rained and we had no other option than to go back to our room. We found an ironing board and set it up against the hotel window, creating a perfect ramp to drop into - so I gave it a go. I got spit out straight into the ground and we couldn’t stop laughing, it was hilarious.
“Milton Martinez is the one person with the most accurate advice that always turns out to be right”
The next day we went to have breakfast and there were skaters everywhere. Every morning there was this really famous guy sitting next to us over breakfast, who obviously didn’t know us, this guy was really cool and everything was super random. And then when the tour and everything was over, our friend asked us if that was Ali Boulala, and indeed it was! And he was unsure about it all along. Also, we didn’t know it but he was a judge at the contest. In the end, our team ended up winning! Aside from our breakfast dates with Ali, we also had the best team and the best filmer, Makk Ebengtsson.
Another unforgettable memory I have is meeting Marisa dal Santo. We had some mates together and she was really into rock music. She knew a lot about rock culture in Argentina and was super into pappo blues. Those are things you never imagine but they end up happening. That was in Foz do Iguaçu for X Games, back in 2013. I went as a replacement, and because Elissa Steamer didn’t make it, I had the opportunity to join the contest for the first and last time (thanks to Converse Argentina, Mimi Knoop and Girls Invasion). Many more things happened, but I can’t tell them here!
What’s your skate philosophy?
I’m all for skateboarding without being a puppet of the industry, be real, love one another, get angry, but embrace everything with respect and dedication.
“Love one another, get angry, embrace everything with respect and dedication.”
High five, girl! It was a good day!
